The Commons - Grand Rapids

The rent keeps going up without any improvements being made. The bathroom tub is covered in cheap, peeling paint and there are broken windows. The water is frequently shut off. While the location is nice and the building is cool and old, major renovations are desperately needed.

We went there when emily served and bartending. they were amazing and treated us so well. the food was delicious! massive portions. emily made us great cocktails that everyone has to try.

The commons is a great place to get cocktails and have some delicious apps. I personally like their appetizers better than their main thing, but that could be because I like to try many things. their sliders were an appetizer, but are now a big one, but soou good. the wings were very good, my wife does not care about wings so much and she could not stop eating them. shakshuka dip was on point. cocktails were great! pears and elders was so good that we had to find it at home. the ambiente is as if they have collected and brought to the restaurant from their big parents' house, but on good way. Great place to go for drinks before they go to stay and dinate, or just to meet friends.

We were recently in Grand Rapids and wanted to try The Commons as we had seen a clip about it on TV. It didn't disappoint. My wife and I split an order of crab cakes for an appetizer. Very nice. Much like eating them in Baltimore MD. We also both had orders of fish and chips that was prepared perfectly. So good. I had a Guinness and my wife had a Grand Armory Brown beer. Both were enjoyed. I finished up with a slice of pecan pie. It was warm and yummy. I make a great pecan pie myself so I know them and this was GOOD. We will go back when we are in town.
