But as I was waiting (which we did a lot of), I noticed he was covering a lot, and there was not a lot of staff. Knowing rocky times were ahead of us, I said something like, “Wow, you're all over the place. Is it still hard to hire servers or hard to keep them?” I learned it was neither. In continued conversation, I learned it was a scheduling issue; management did not schedule enough people. As the restaurant got busier, Nate eventually managed at least 12 tables! It reminded me of eating at Steak N Shake. While Nate was good in spirits, table morale around us was fading, our table too, as a lack of attention was piling up, blood sugar levels and patience droppin'. The 4 top table to our left was agitated, and the 2 top table to our right was annoyed. I hoped my 7, 11, and 13 year old boys would not forget we were in a nicer restaurant. Thank goodness the bread and bang bang kept them from disaster. We were seated for an hour and forty minutes before we got our meals. Total lunch was about a two hour, 15 minute commitment by the time we paid. Nate was not set up for success when managing the tables he had; he was trying to survive. I 100% applaud what he was doing with the attitude he had.As a restaurant guest, I hope management considers performance and evaluates their process for scheduling. If I owned the restaurant and it performed like this, I would ask, “Should we be open on Sundays and operate a train wreck and ruin our reputation or focus elsewhere?”One of the meals did not come out as it should have. (no time for quality control). We had a grand total of two refills while we were there—no offers for additional adult beverages. The table was not proactively pre bussed. Two meals died in the window. We were not offered dessert, which, before waiting so long, we told the B day boy we would do. A table runner brought out drinks, and we asked for straws, and they dropped a handful of straws (12). They were so rushed into the restaurant that counting to five was not in the cards. My wife and I eat out almost weekly, sometimes more, sometimes less. We love taking our boys, who don't like to eat out. When we talk them into eating out, they always want Bone Fish if it's sit down. We were there on 2/25/24, celebrating one of their birthdays. We treasure the restaurant. I hope this feedback is helpful. We love the menu, the drinks, and atmosphere. I hope we get our boys to want to come again. Aye aye aye.Nate, if you see this appreciate you! Great attitude and demeanor. If this is a regular occurance, know your talents will be showcased better some where else!
It was so Delicious. And the Bang Bang Shrimp was Fantastic. And the sauce was Fantastic with everything I ate. I told everybody this was the place to go. Waitress was Great and Friendly. And the Atmosphere was Nice and Cozy.
A weekend get-away and date night turned into a family dinner and we all had a great time! Reservations were orginally booked for me and my wife; however, we added our adult son at the last minute. He lives in the area and we live two hours away. Great food, adult beverages, and top notch service! The staff was helpful, accommodating, and extremely entertaining. We had a blast! We will definitely come back to the Bonefish Grill in Grand Rapids for future date night activities.
Love the shrimp and scallops pasta, not to mean the bread.
Always scrumptious food. The fried cauliflower was excellent. Attentive servers. Happy atmosphere!
