Are you looking for good, down home BBQ in Grand Rapids, then Slows BBQ is the place! We enjoyed the Brisket, Chicken Wings, and Apple Glazed Chicken. The wings are the bomb! Brisket is soft and moist.Definitely worth the walk and the service was fast.

Have to say I was questioning the location with all the homeless around just down the street but didn't think about it again once walking in. It was very clean and bright and nothing felt unsafe.The food was exceptional, and the bartender was great. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!

Plenty of variety for our diverse moods. Wife went with Mac cheese with apple chicken , daughter grabbed The Reason (a pulled-pork sandwich) w/ waffle fries, and I had The Big 3 (brisket, pulled pork, apple chicken), as well as a side of cornbread, shared a pint of peanutbutter Cracker Jack stout from the local Mitten Brewery.

I wish i could give them 10 stars. I'm a supervisor at a factory here in grand rapids. My managers gave me the option to plan the retirement party for an employee that had been with the company for over 30 years. I wanted to make it special, so i asked him what he'd like to have catered. He said BBQ. I've been to a lot of BBQ places in Grand Rapids and i didn't think there was anywhere that would hit the mark. Then i stumbled across Slows looking through google. It had been a couple years since I'd had it last but i remembered liking it. I rolled the dice and did NOT regret it. The food was so good it was dead silent in a room of 30-40 people while everyone was eating. I got a lot of praise for my choice but the praise should go to Slows Bar BQ. Thank you guys. I cannot thank you enough. He was a great man that deserved a great retirement party and you guys helped make that happen. Thank you again.

Stopped in for some ribs as Slow's is supposedly highly rated. Not sure why. My ribs were totally dried out and quite bland. I skipped going to City BBQ just to try Slows. Wrong choice, say what you will about City BBQ, but it is always consistent and they have the better St Louis style ribs and not baby back ribs. Also, nothing comes as a side. I won't be back. I'll do Slows a favor and not post any oics of my ribs. On the bright side, the bartender was great and had excellent service.
