Amazing donuts! Waiting in line for the DMV just got a lot tastier

Been eating Holts for years and it’s high time I write a review. First, the cake donuts. The consistence of these is always great – soft, but with enough firmness for a good mouthfeel, and the frosting is light and fluffy. I like that you can see little flecks of fruit in the frosting for the donuts that are cherry and blueberry frosted. The glazed donuts have a pillowy texture and an airiness with a very slight chew, not quite melt-in-your-mouth but close. I actually prefer it this way, it makes it feel more substantial. The glaze is lovely, and I always get both cinnamon drizzle and cinnamon glazed. The cinnamon glazed has a more substantial, thicker, glaze that’s the perfect complement to the yeast donut. I’ve not had the pudding-filled donuts (not really my thing) but my husband has, they are his favorite. He says the texture of the pudding is better than a cream and slightly less sweet, which he likes. These donuts are delicious. Nothing artificial about their flavors, great texture, consistent quality. Holts has completely ruined me for any other donut!

The best doughnuts in KC. Lived a block away for 20 years. Never once was I let down by the Doughnuts or the service. The consistent quality over so many years is astounding. Live 20 minutes away now and still drive there on occasion because nothing close to me comes close to Holtz.

Best donuts in Kansas City. Make sure to show up early because they do sell out.
