Pennington Farms - Grants Pass

Wonderful farm in the Applegate Valley. Pastries are addicting so be careful. :

My parents got me a $100 gift card here. Both times I’ve gone in to spend it, when I am ready to check out the employees act shocked that I have a gift card and act as if I cannot use it. Then a woman from the back comes and manually enters the gift card code that I pull up on my phone and says “let’s hope this works”. It’s like don’t accept peoples money if you aren’t going to let them spend it at your store. They treat me like a problem for having a gift card! And the cupcakes I bought from there were old and didn’t even taste good. I make way better treats and home!

It was a cute little country store the decor was very country -antique They had many homemade baked goodies and craft items for sale. It was hard to decide on how to spend my gift certificate. We decided on the apple pie and berry fruit leather. Both were very delicious. I have never had fruit leather that was as tasty as Pennington Farms. It was a beautiful day for a country drive to the farm. It was a delightful experience and the food was delicious.

Stopped by for a ready-made savory pie and a sweet pie for dinner. I have always been satisfied with the pies from Pennington Farms whether they are sweet or savory. I don't enjoy almond extract (it is in some of the pies and cookies so I just ask before ordering. In summer, make sure to purchase a selection of berries for a local, delicious, and interesting treat. (Who knew blackberries varieties could all be so differently flavored? Worth the stop or worth the detour. Either way, worth while.

I stopped by to grab some pastries for breakfast with a friend. It was almost 10 AM, and their selection was quite limited at that time. When I asked about other items, they mentioned they were in the process of baking but couldn't provide a timeline for when they would be ready—just a shrug in response. The pastries we did get were delicious, but the service felt rather unfriendly. On the bright side, the surroundings and views were beautiful.
