Lazy Dog Chocolateria - Grass Valley

This is a great little candy and ice cream shop in downtown Grass Valley. We visited on a Saturday when they did have good traffic through the shop. I will give the young man who helped us with our ice cream order props for a smile and willingness tohelp with any questions we had. I am careful in these types of places as nut allergies do run in the family. The young man waskind enough to rinse off the scoops before serving our ice cream to help lower the chances of cross contamination with peanutbutter flavors. The reason they get only 3 stars is the lack of interest in setting up a ice cream shop to help those with nutallergies be safer. It would be quite easy to move all their nut ice cream to one of their multiple freezers instead of thembeing mixed throughout all the flavors. Also it would not be too hard to have a few extra scoops and containers of water to helpseparate scoops used with nuts and those without. I give these comments to help both the owner and anyone with nut allergiesconsidering eating here. It would be a higher risk of cross contamination with nuts than most ice cream shops I've been to soeat at your own risk. In the end the ice cream was good. But I probably won't risk it twice in these conditions.

Perfect little delicious place to get some sweets and ice cream. Attentive and nice staff!

Very tasty. What?s not to like about ice cream and their candy selection. They carry Gunther?s ice cream I was told by the girls that work there. I guess it?s well known in Sacramento. I?m not from the area. Anyway it was very good and the serviceis always great every time I have come in.

Wonderful little candy and ice cream shop. The Italian ice and Gelato was so authentic it felt like I was sitting in a Cafe in Rome! The staff was as sweet as the homemade chocolates. Fun place!

I've never seen a candy store so big! Their chocolate was amazing (you need to try their chocolate covered s'mores). They had some very unique flavors of taffy, specifically pickle flavored! It was ok, although it was worth it to say I've tried pickleflavored salt water taffy lol!
