Bluewaters Grill - Grassy Key

Nice view, nice people working there, but the food was pretty terrible. Could be worse but definitely wasn’t good. Came in because of a Facebook ad which showed sweet potato fries with the crab cakes which they did not even have. The crab cakes tasted like eggs and the fries were like triple fried leftover fries it seemed idk …my stomach wasn’t too happy afterward…the skirt steak was not too bad but the portion was really tiny…definitely won’t be back.

I stopped in for a quick drink while my family was taking a tour at the nearby turtle hospital. The bar and the adjacent area overlooking the ocean/gulf was beautiful. My bartender, Jacklyn was really nice and friendly. I saw her answer multiple people’s questions about the resort and things to see and do in and around Marathon, Florida. Great beautiful relaxing place for an afternoon libation and if you’re lucky maybe Jacklyn will be on duty.

My husband and I were looking for a close place by the water to eat after a busy day exploring and traveling so we decided to have dinner here. The food was ok. I had the grouper sandwich which was very good. My husband had the crab cakes which were ok. It is on the water with a nice view. My reason for the 3 star review is because of the service. There is a bar and a seating area. They had one person at the bar and then one poor waitress doing everything else. She literally was RUNNING from table to table trying to do her best. My husband and I felt so bad for her. I realize that many businesses are struggling with staffing but I hope that this is not an everyday occurrence.

Ferdi and Lenin are the best duo team in the kitchen. Wouldn’t recommend them enough for the experience. Made me felt welcomed and treated me fabulous. There costumer service was amazing and they were always with a smile. Shemeka at the front desk was amazing as well. Would love to come back to this staff.

The crab cakes platter was huge and could been shared with two people. Crab cakes had so much of actual crab meat instead of breading which was delicious and good. Fried Hot wings were okay. Calamari were over seasoned and salty which were not my favorite. I HAVE TO SAY HANDS DOWN THE KEY LIME PIE SLICE IS THE BEST I EVER HAD! You definitely should try even though it’s quite pricey for that slice($11) I had different pie slices from different places but this one is very soft, creamy, has that definite lime taste which it should have since it’s Key Lime pie. Nacho Stacks were good but I have no photo because me and my sister ate that up. The Miami Vice drink was delicious. Shirley Temple was made with Ginger Ale soda and grenadine. I had many Shirley Temples. Overall service was good. Some food were a hit or miss. Drinks pretty delicious.
