Having eaten here on many occasions i am surprised that the food side has increased in price decreased in selection and portion size Lets hope that the rececent employment of a new chef is the only reason for the changes
Visited this resturant last night for Christmas dinner evening 14 of us enjoyed great food and marvelous service. The staff were very attentive and always had a smile for everyone, food was of excellent quality and more than enough to satisfy the hungriest appetite, prices did not break the budget and there was no pressure on the leaving time although the resturant closed at 10.30 all together a great time was had by all
My best friend and I visited this restaurant on Sunday night, based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. My friend has lived in the area for 30 years, and had never been to this restaurant for a meal. So we gave it a try. We were the only people in the restaurant on Sunday. We both had a starter and a roast dinner. The Staff could not have nicer or more accommodating. The food was excellent, apart for the gravy being a bit thin, there was nothing to fault. Dannie and Pauline the ladies who looked after us were wonderful, and did a great job. The menu is not massive, but just as it should be good food at good prices. Give it a go, I am sure I will be back.
Was a little bit concerned as we booked the Granby for a family dinner to celebrate my Partner 's Gran 's 77th birthday then read the reviews. So although we weren 't staying there there was still a small amount of trepidation as a mixed group of 14 ranging from 77 down to 7 months arrived for a Sunday Lunch. We had been allocated a private and well-appointed room at no extra cost for an already bargain price. We were greeted by friendly and attentive staff who looked after our party for the 3 hours that we were there. The food was excellent and plentiful and several of us are big eaters who struggled to get through it. A lovely touch was the gratis easter eggs for the children and cupcakes for the adults which took us all by surprise. I will definitely be eating there again..
In August 2013 a group of us including my wheelchair bound daughter , had the pleasure of a lovely meal for about 15 of us. We were faced with stairs to get in but the staff came and took my daughter and wheelchair up on a lift which went up the few stairs. The meal was lovely and the waitresses were cheerful, the nicest thing was that they noticed the sun was steaming in early evening on my daughter and she couldnt open her eyes they went and got a lot of A4 paper and put it up at the window to shade my daughter. this was beyond my expectations and we have all agreed this is where we are holding our Christmas meal there too. Well Done to manager and staff.
