Gates Au Sable Lodge - Grayling

We dined at the restaurant for a birthday celebration with a group of eight. At first glance, it may not seem like the most impressive dining spot, but it truly exceeds expectations! The service was outstanding, and the food was incredible. I really enjoyed the variety of choices on the menu. They also craft delicious cocktails. Overall, it’s a complete dining experience. I highly recommend Gates. Keep in mind that the restaurant is quite small, so it's best to call ahead. While it’s not a high-end establishment, it certainly delivers a first-class experience! If you're considering it, you absolutely must try the food and drinks — it's definitely worth the drive!

I just had dinner at the Gates Restaurant, and I must say, the menu is outstanding. I highly recommend starting with the Michigan Salad. Our host, Jonathon, was incredibly professional and helpful. We even picked up a breakfast and lunch menu for our future visits! Service: 5/5.

Was here a few times in the late 80s and met Rusty. My dad knew this was the place to go to learn what was happening on the river. We would buy some flies and head off to our cabin on the Au Sable. My dads dad (John Yarbrough) was known for his flys he created and sold back in the day (50s 60s) and Rusty remembered him well. So blessed to be a part of this history. Sorry to hear we lost Rusty. He knew his stuff and we appreciated him.

Just celebrated our anniversary at Gates Ausable Lodge restaurant. We couldn't have had a more pleasurable experience. Our server Johnathan was warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable of everything they serve. The drinks were imaginative and the food was impeccable. A most perfect celebration. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Amazing location. The restaurant on site is amazing. The rooms are small but lots of outdoor space and river access to spend lots of time outside. A great escape in a family friendly environment.Rooms: 5/5
