Prezzo Italian Lakeside - Grays

I have had many positive experiences at other branches but this Prezzo is one to avoid. It was busy as it was half term (but it was about 2pm). We only had to wait a few minutes before a woman came to seat us but she was interrupted by a very abrupt man who barked, How many? at us. Everytime she came over, he server kept touching me on the back/shoulder with her hand and I kept moving my body away. I eventually had to ask her to stop after the third time but she still did it to my husband as we were paying. The starters and pasta dishes were fine but my husband 's saltimbocca was very thin and over cooked, the cabbage was wet and floppy and the potato looked like it had been heated in a microwave, not roasted al forno as described in the menu. The sauce was incredibly watery. They did replace this meal but then we didnt get to eat together. A really disappointing experience. A very busy Prezzo restaurant during half term which was clearly understaffed. Food good as always at Prezzo. I find the choice of starters very boring these days. No chicken/meat options. Nice food, but the staff member who dealt with us during our meal was rubbish, she couldn't understand the majority of what we were saying, when ordering, very strong language Barrier, which made our experience quite disappointing overall and then when we paid, we had an offer which she didn't how to use and she wasn't able to explain the details and then proceeded to come across agressive because we didn't understand her.... Extremely slow service, from booking a table to waiting 20 minutes at the front door to be seated on a two seater table with three guests, cramped. Took a further 10-15 minutes to get someone’s attention for drinks possibly move tables, then a further 10 minutes after receiving the drinks we were allowed to order food, the “truffle fries” came with zero truffle just extra parsley the tiniest bit of Parmesan, overall very slow experience, quite disappointed because the food was okay, could of been better though. We had a wonderful experience on September 11, 2023. The woman who served us—who might have been the manager—was delightful, very attentive, and enjoyable to talk to. The food was delicious, and she made me the best coffee I've ever had. I highly recommend the tiramisu, and the citrus cooler was amazing as well. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 stars.
