We didn’t expect it to be the worst customer service we have had in Spain. They don’t acknowledge you as you arrive, 3 staff sitting down chatting and eating whilst one person worked ignoring all the customers. We watched as people came and went not being served. We waited 20 minutes to be served. Ok coffee but you can get better elsewhere. This place obviously survives on its position in the town rather than good food and service. This place is in a small square which seems to be in the town centre. There are two or three places to choose from. It is a Café/bar. There seemed to be a few locals inside enjoying a few cervesas. We elected to sit at one of the tables outside for lunch and watch the comings and goings around town. It was early in the tourist season so things were reasonably quiet. There were plenty of options for lunch, including Baguettes and the like, but also Tapas. The Tapas where pretty big, so don't go overboard when you order! The service was fine and the food was great. We didn't stay for drinks, but could have easily stayed there for an afternoon. If you have a car, there is parking just up the hill a little (2 3 minutes walk), and also in another square off the main route.
As the name implies, this is more of a cafeteria and bar with pastelería (cake shop) rather than a restaurant. It has lots of nice cakes, typical of the area, and the usual drinks all served with the customary friendliness. However, the reason for this review is that if you've been in Spain for a while and could really do with a cup of tea (if you are Spanish you probably won't be wanting a cup of tea), this is the place! It has a range of fruit and herb teas but it also has really good, standard, black tea, and it's not tea bags but proper tea leaves! It's not actually served in a pot but it's the next best thing and is actually made with something very much like boiling water. It was about the best we've had anywhere in Spain.
Just some of the comments as we tucked into tapas consisting of: Salmon and avocado Meatballs in sauce (Mum’s faggots) Oxtail in gravy Spanish omelette All thoroughly recommended and cheap as the proverbial chips! (See photos)
Totalmente recomendables.
