I noticed earlier in the day that Grelly's cook the fish and chips in dripping (for extra flavour) and this reminded me of holidays when I was younger. Ordered 2 cod and chips (for me and hubby) and it was very reasonably priced, cooked fresh to order, served in boxes and with wooden cutlery, so we could eat and enjoy whilst sitting at one of their tables on the seafront, whilst watching the world go by. Very friendly staff, great quality and it tasted delicious, thank you, look forward to sampling again when next in Great Yarmouth.
I checked the reviews on this place before visiting and they were all spot on with very good food with very good prices. We could not believe how big the cod was compared to were we live in West Sussex Very good value highly recommended !
Worst chips I had all holiday , not sure if it’s changed owners , as in the past I was praising these for being some of the best chips in Yarmouth , the chips we’re horrible, nothing like they used to be , won’t be going here again .
Having tried fish and chips from several places in Yarmouth, I can safely say this is head and shoulders the best I've ever had. Cooked in beef dripping (the traditional, tastiest way) the haddock was cooked to perfection as were the chips. Proper chip shop curry sauce (not that Chinese stuff). Staff are super friendly and helpful too. 11/10
Ordered cod roe and chips, chips were cold and roe was gritty and different shades of colour inside which was also cold. Chips were really greasy and more like fries than chips with majority being brown and hard with the occasional raw chip. Had a few mouthfuls of food and the bin had the rest. Definitely won’t be returning.
