The Waterside - Great Yarmouth

The young staff at this restaurant were charming, but the older supervisor was rude. When I ordered a vegan soup, it came with buttered sliced bread. When I questioned the bread, I was abruptly told that I should have specified that I wanted it vegan. However, we had asked for it to be vegan and it was marked as such on the menu. Although they gave me plain bread afterwards, the experience was soured by being scolded and also who serves pre-buttered sliced bread anyway? The menu even mentioned a granary roll. It's disappointing to see this decline in quality at a restaurant that used to be better.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious yet simple, and everything tasted fresh. The homemade cakes were amazing, especially the brownie which was perfect.

I can't believe I have lived in Norfolk for so long and never visited this restaurant before. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely. Although there was a short wait, I enjoyed sitting outside by the water. I was too full to try the delicious looking cakes, so I will definitely be returning soon.

This is a beautifully located café with a view over the lake which is part of the Norfolk Broads. Our full English breakfasts were very good as was the coffe. Service was prompt and chatty and the sunny weather made sitting on the deck very pleasant. This was a surprise find and needs to be widely supported. They also have whole cakes, and we each had a slice of the variety they had on offer. They do lunches too. Highly recommended.

Lovely place very good service from very helpful young ladies. Food very good and plenty off it. The ham was 1st class. Everything was just lovely would defiantly recommend
