It seemed to be a popular spot for local police, as two young officers from Victoria purchased takeout for lunch. The restaurant was busy with tradesmen from the outer suburbs of Melbourne during my visit. I ordered a "rippa" (chicken schnitzel in a roll) with chips and a Coke Zero for A$10.99. However, with the Rooster Rewards card program, I received a five percent discount and can redeem rewards once my balance reaches A$2.50. Despite the initial appearance of a smaller roll, it was compensated with two medium-sized pieces of properly cooked chicken schnitzel. The chips were also well-cooked. The staff was efficient and pleasant.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place definitely deserves one. During our recent visit, it became clear why it was always empty and easy to get a table. We popped in for a quick bite and it was a disaster. It was the worst customer service experience I have had in years. My bacon and cheese burger tasted like it had been microwaved, and was unappetizing. The chicken was also full of bones. When I brought up these concerns, I was brushed off until I finally asked for the manager. To my surprise, she appeared disinterested and looked like she was barely a teenager. She confirmed that the burger had in fact been microwaved and suggested I just get over it. I suggest avoiding this place and telling others to do the same.
This Red Rooster location is the nearest to me, but it has consistently let me down. I had a loyalty reward that needed to be used before a certain date. Unfortunately, some of the food we received was inedible. When we raised our concerns and returned the food, there was no apology offered whatsoever. We even felt like we were being a bother. We had to pay for anything beyond my original meal, and we specifically timed our visit to speak to a manager we had previously contacted. Her attitude was excellent, and it's a shame that not everyone at the restaurant follows her example. She clearly understood the importance of keeping customers happy.
Typical Australian fast food. The red rooster offers the best you can get with chicken fast food.
A nice place to come for a quick feed. Very clean and staff are nice and seem to be always busy. A/c works beautiful on a hot day
