My wife and I were cycling around Shepparton and chose to stop for lunch at Little Lipari. It was very convenient to park our bikes on the footpath and eat at one of the outdoor tables on a sunny although cool day. Despite being outside, the staff were very attentive and we quickly had menus and glasses of water. We only had main courses and we chose the gnocchi and seafood linguine. I can't recall the type of meat sauce with the gnocchi but it was delicious. The seafood was also very good. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience at a reasonable price.
Little Lipari really is an authentic piece of Italy in the heart of Shepparton. Unfortunately I was only able to sample this restaurant 3 times during the week I was in Shepparton for work. The first visit was the Casareccia pasta with pork sausage, outstanding! The pasta seemed home made and the flavour felt like straight out of Italy, which it actually is. Joe, the owner and chef takes great pride cooking front and centre, as the kitchen is located just beside the register. So good we had to return for breakfast. This is where s@*t got real, Franks Sicilian eggs, amazing!! Had to go back the next day for seconds. Possibly the best breakfast I remember having. So full of flavour, not a lot to it, but just amazing flavours!! Even their cold pressed oj was delicious. Coffee is nothing special but definitely not back. All up just an authentic experience that should not be missed in Shepparton. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
Met a friend for coffee at 9.00 on a Saturday morning, the cafe was packed with no tables spare. This cafe has a great feel about it and was buzzing with a couple of large groups. Regardless of the amount of clientele there was ample wait staff who were prompt and courteous and our coffee was placed quickly in front of us. Great taste and great temperature and served with a smile. We were asked if we would like a second and again was served in a timely manner and with a smile. Lovely place to visit.
Tried this place based on some friends ' recommendations and I must say, I owe them one! I think I found a gem in the heart of Shepparton.<br/ <br/ We made a trip to this town during our holiday in Numurkah and I honestly did not expect to find anything so 'fresh '. From the decor to the wait staff, the drink selection and food served it could very well take on any of the best Italian joins on Lygon St.<br/ <br/ I had the seafood linguine which was perfectly seasoned (I really dislike under seasoned food! but had a bit more spice than I expected. It was still delish!<br/ <br/ Bro had the duck ragout pasta and he claims it tasted eerily similar to the one he had in Italy during his honeymoon.<br/ <br/ Mum tried their pumpkin risotto and declared it a winner and dad said their pork hock soup was hearty and delicious.<br/ <br/ Even my 3.5yo son gobbled up his ham and cheese toastie with no complaints!<br/ <br/ All round favourite in my family we 're obviously gonna have to make another trip to Shepparton!
