Freddy's Frozen Custard Steakburgers

Food is always good, service lots better , got a sundae it was sad!!

I’ve always loved Freddy’s, and I’ve never had a disappointing experience until today. I waited in the drive-thru for over 20 minutes, spent more than $10, received a small serving of fries, and found an entire onion slice on my overly salty sandwich. I admit that the onion issue is a bit of a nitpick since I'd prefer too much onion rather than too little, but I was relieved I removed the bun before taking a bite. I would have expected this kind of disappointment from a $1 menu at McDonald's, but not from Freddy's. The overly salty burger and the tiny portion of fries were the main letdowns.

I've visited Freddy's several times since it opened a few years ago, and I've consistently enjoyed the food and their signature custards. However, I feel that the portion sizes and pricing need improvement. Considering that the cheapest combo meal starts around $10, one would expect a substantial burger. In fact, when compared to a McDonald's McDouble, the size is not too different. It seems like they may be trying to make up for the smaller burger by serving larger portions of fries.

Freddie's usually delivers a great experience, but it can vary depending on the staff on any given day. There's a saying I heard years ago that comes to mind: "It's not fast food; it's great food served quickly!" Freddie's lived up to that, and my family left satisfied and not hungry at all after our visit!
