Right in the heart of Greenport you could not ask for a better hotel/restaurant location if you are visiting short or long term. The restaurant is always updating the feel and menu which never fails to deliver. Wine Cocktail program has always been super top shelf. Hospitality is always on point and never feels cold or stale. Highly recommend this as a place to stay and/or a great Brunch/Dinner spot. Rooms: 5
A lovely hotel right in Greenport. Room 12 was one flight up and was quiet. The king bed is super comfortable. And there is coffee and wine available in the room. The bathroom is very well appointed with separate shower and tub. The floor tiles are so pretty with a black and white daisy design. Bathrobes, too! And big fluffy towels. The room is spotlessly clean. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Rooms: 5
The American Beech Hotel is a spectacular retreat. Pamper and indulgent yourself wrapping in luxurious robes, sipping a Nepresso, and enjoying a picnic basket breakfast delivered to your door. Walk and explore the waterfront, shops, and head back for pizza and drinks in the courtyard. You won’t be disappointed! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms: 5
It is a very unique, beautiful boutique hotel . The room was ready about 1:30 vs 3pm standard check-in time. The reception area is rather large. There is seating by the entrance and a majority space of the space is a boutique. The rooms are in separate areas throughout the space. Read the fine print carefully before you book. It is stated very clearly where the room location is-above Brix Rye, reception etc they cannot guarantee quiet. To get to rooms 11, 12, 14 (above the reception area) you had to go outside, enter a separate part of the building, go upstairs. We heard music once for a brief period of time. This area was quiet and the only time you heard anything was when people shut their doors. The room was beautiful, spacious with many windows views of the main side streets. There were 2 robes, 4 very large towels, a hand towel, a face cloth specifically for makeup removal. The Ortigia products were wonderful- liquid handsoap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner solid soap. However, I wish I had brought my own conditioner. We received 2 bottles of water, 2 face masks a personalized note. The room refrigerator was large and while it had various minibar items there was plenty of room for our food items water. The nespresso machine was a nice touch touch too. Because it was a rainy weekend (due to Hurricane Ophelia) you could not sit outside in any of the areas referred to as Stirling square/the Lounge. The American Beech restaurant was open and covered outdoor seating was available. There was a very unique seating area upstairs to the left of the reception desk right outside Black Llama bar (closed). What I really liked was all info was communicated through text (there are no phones in the room). Between 4 5pm rosè hour there was a glass from a Long Island winery given to each guest. We did walk around Greenport, but the weather was rainy the maritime festival was cancelled. Dinner was at 1943 pizza bar which was delicious. Breakfast was a continental breakfast delivered at 9am in a picnic basket on top of a tray one can use to eat breakfast in bed. Not a fan of that, but comfy chairs and a table in the room were perfect. It included yogurts, bagels, OJ, butter, CC, jelly, 2 coffees, a banana orange. We were very pleased with our stay hope to return on a better weather weekend.
