I ordered the Nicolette, my husband ordered the meatball sub and we also got pasta salad and tomato mozzarella salad. Let 's start with the Nicolette. It was the best Italian style sub I 've ever had. The bread was PERFECT, not too thick and just the right crunch. They put so much meat on the sandwich it was almost hard to eat (but I managed just fine . Absolutely delicious. The meatball sub. OMG YES. The meatballs were so tender and the sauce was so good. By the time I got to the salads I was too full. BUT, I tried them both. The pasta salad had good flavor, but was a bit dry for me. Hubs liked it- he ate it all. I only tried the mozzarella in the other salad because they make it in house. It was sooooo good. To be honest, I didn 't have room for my sides to save room for dessert. We got cannolis and brought tiramisu. The cannolis were really good, but they told us to wait until tomorrow to eat the tiramisu (so it 'd be ready . There is no indoor seating. We sat at one of the two tables outside next to a really nice couple that came to eat and brought a large to go order list. Two of the staff members came out to talk to the lady about her order and they were incredibly friendly. All this to say, yes, I HIGHLY recommend. :
We were on our way to Liberty, NC and looking to grab some lunch on our way. My wife had heard a lot of positive things about Giacomo's and today was the day we decided to stop in. It was a bit out of our way but we decided it was worth it since we aren't often in Greensboro for lunch. We arrived about 11am, parking was easy as it is located in a small strip mall. Wow, we were impressed from the moment we walked inside! It was not too busy but there was someone in front of us and soon afterwards, someone behind us. We told the gentleman behind the counter this was our first time. Both customers must have been regulars because they immediately began telling us about their favorite items and talked about how yummy everything at Giacomo's is. The market is full of refrigerated, shelf stable and frozen items. The young men behind the counter were absolutely incredible in telling us about the store. We learned that not only do they produce and prepare the majority of the items, they also have a production facility nearby in Elon (San Giuseppe Salami Co. where they make the products. They took the time to walk us through a variety of their items and even provided us samples of the mozzarella and a flaky yet moist lemon cookie (we wish we knew what they were called , both were absolutely delicious! We both decided to order sandwiches for lunch. My wife chose the Rosselli, a chicken, spinach and melted fresh mozzarella cheese while I chose the meatball and sausage combo at the recommendation of one of the employees. We also ordered one arancini to share. I also ordered one of their stromboli like items for lunch this week, I cannot remember the name but one of the employees described it as stromboli like and it is full of meat and cheese, I am excited to try it at work this week. Prices are those of a higher end deli but the products feel worthy of the price. We proceeded to take advantage of the small table outside and ate our sandwiches and arancini. Everything was delicious and each and every bite was enjoyed. This totally satisfies my inner Italian and reminds me of my heritage. Absolutely a hidden gem that we are excited to come back too. I've already thought about my wife picking up some sausages when she is working in Greensboro to bring home to grill. Highly recommend to others!
I have always heard good things about this place. I live nearby but have never been. Today, i made it a mission to go and get a sub there for lunch. As soon as I walked in, it was like a taste of Italy. The market has meats and cheeses everywhere, even hanging from the ceiling! There are so many delicious snacks from Italy, wine, and even Italian pastas to sell. They have a freezer section filled with homemade pastas. The staff was so helpful and friendly! Especially nick. He recommended his creation for a sandwich, and i told him I wasn't a fan of eggplant, so we went with his second choice, the Sammy. It has corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, mustard, onions, tomato, and lettuce. While I waited, Nick brought me a piece of eggplant to try. He told me theirs was prepared differently. I tried it, and it was soooo good. The balsamic vinegar really made it pop! I will be going with his sandwich next time. The Sammy itself was HUGE and so good! Absolutely packed with meat, and the mustard added extra zing! I cannot rave about this place enough. It is a great lunch spots and I will likely buy meats and cheeses from them, too! They have earned a new regular customer! The hype is well deserved here. Check them out!!!
I am so late to this place! I have been missing out on high quality imported meats and cheeses. I got a meatball sub with chips and was absolutely blown away with how delicious it was. I have started going here once a week just about because I can't get enough of their homemade meatballs. Highly recommend!!
This place is EVERYTHING! You walk in and you feel like you're in Italy. The meats hanging from the ceiling, the imported Italian goods, the loud employees and the fresh food in display is chefs kiss. I haven't tried too many things here (which I plan on doing eventually) but what I have tried has been 10/10. The sandwiches are incredible, probably the best in Greensboro. The pasta salad HITS! Everything tastes fresh. Even when the line is out the door they never take too long, they know how to get people in and out fast! Highly recommend to everyone looking for some really good food.
