The meats hanging from the ceiling, the imported Italian goods, the loud employees and the fresh food in display is chefs kiss. I haven't tried too many things here (which I plan on doing eventually) but what I have tried has been 10/10. The sandwiches are incredible, probably the best in Greensboro. The pasta salad HITS! Everything tastes fresh. Even when the line is out the door they never take too long, they know how to get people in and out fast! Highly recommend to everyone looking for some really good food.
Just a quick update to my last post and raising my review to 5 stars. The owner responded to my prior review and stated that a few tables and chairs have been placed outside so patrons can eat their sandwiches fresh right then and there. Thank you! Looking forward to going back very soon!
I've been wanting to come here for a long time. I was on a roundabout in the area and stopped for lunch. I've read so much about the subs I had to try one. Wow, it didn't disappoint. It was maybe the best sub I ever had. Now I want to go back and try the others. The guys behind the counter were very helpful and nice. I had to pick up some olives and frozen ravioli for later. Got a nice pepperoni too. This is what I envision when I think of a real Italian deli.
Great Italian sausages, sandwiches and hot food. Just like back home. Don't tell anyone!
From the moment we walked in, we were impressed! It wasn't too crowded, but there was someone in front of us, and soon after, another customer behind us. When we mentioned to the gentleman at the counter that it was our first visit, the regulars quickly began sharing their favorite dishes and raving about how delicious everything at Giacomo's is. The market offers a variety of refrigerated, shelf-stable, and frozen items. The young staff members behind the counter were exceptionally knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the store. We learned that they produce and prepare most of their items in-house and have a nearby production facility in Elon (San Giuseppe Salami Co.), where they make their products. They took the time to introduce us to several offerings and even gave us samples of their mozzarella and a delightful, flaky lemon cookie (we wish we had caught the name, but both were absolutely delicious!). For lunch, my wife decided on the Rosselli—a chicken sandwich with spinach and melted fresh mozzarella—while I opted for the meatball and sausage combo based on an employee's recommendation. We also ordered an arancini to share. Additionally, I ordered one of their stromboli-like items for lunch later this week. I can't remember the name, but one of the staff described it as similar to stromboli, packed with meat and cheese. I'm looking forward to trying it at work! The prices are on par with a higher-end deli, but the quality of the products makes them worth it. We found a small table outside to enjoy our sandwiches and arancini. Everything was delicious, and we savored every bite. This truly satisfied my inner Italian and reminded me of my heritage. Giacomo's is definitely a hidden gem, and we're excited to return. I've already considered having my wife pick up some sausages next time she's working in Greensboro to bring home for grilling. I highly recommend it to others!
