My sister claimed she wouldn't go until she'd been here. For those familiar with Tommy’s in Newport News, VA, these two restaurants are definitely in a close competition! Just some local slang, haha!
We could finally eat here on the weekday morning when the lines were not as gnarly as they are when we looked past a weekend. I'm really glad that the stars are also aligned! the country fleet I ordered was absolutely fantastic. it reminded me of a hearty Thanksgiving dinner, where they put the best of all the help in a single lazy happy, then afterwards go in peace from filling. hubby ordered a burrito and gries that made him very happy! the presentation was quite bland, but he was very satisfied with the taste. above all the grotten he is not normally a fan, but asked them to pack him to go. the burrito had really met him so much! would definitely come back to try others dinge on the menu.
We had a nice brunch here on Monday. it was surprisingly busy for a Monday abs would recommend a reservation at the weekend. when they take them. the pancakes were phenomenal and huge. the haybrown were crispy, egg cooked to order and crispy speck on request. the cookies were quite large and wonderful, we have one to go. I would definitely recommend eating here. great service. they usually have seats in free but not when we went for short personal work. the chicken little breakfast will be my next order! enjoy
Absolutely wonderful experience from the atmosphere to eating. our waitress was very attentive and we felt like friends. the atmosphere was like sitting on a front veranda cottage in a summer dress. the food was delish and had a lot of variety!
The restaurant has a lovely and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a brunch date. The dim lighting creates an ideal setting for eye-to-eye conversation, and the music is just the right blend. The food was delicious; I’m not sure what they add to their greens, but there’s a subtle sweetness while still capturing the classic collard greens flavor. It’s a genuine Southern spot, but I was disappointed that they didn’t offer any cornbread, so I’m giving it a four out of five.
