Promised Land Inn - Greentown

The food was pricey, yet not one item was average or below. Best crab cakes we've ever had. Service from our waitress was very pleasant, though we needed to ask for everything such as appetizer dishes, steak knife for our steak, drink refills. The thing that truly ruined the experience was the rigidity and lack of customer service skills of the hostess. We had 5 in our party, including our 90 year old mother. The wall air conditioner was blowing cold air directly on our table and the temperature was set at 66 degrees. When we went to move the table 2 ft in order to avoid this, the hostess ran over and said we can't move the table. When I inquired as to why, she said it scratches the floor and changes the path for staff. Neither of these were a factor for this circumstance. It was 5:00, so sparse, and we are in our 50s/60s not teenagers roughly and needlessly moving tables. We decided to move outside, where we received our meal. There was no attempt at apology or even subtle service recovery. Had we not have ordered and waited already, we would have left and don't intend to return.

Service was excellent, food was really good, nothing spectacular but good pub style food. Would go again!

Not sure why this restaurant only has a 4.3 rating on Google we certainly had a better experience than that.We ate here twice during our stay at Promised Land State Park and the food was quite good. The restaurant was clean and our server was friendly and attentive. We mostly got appetizers wings, waffle fries, pickle chips, flatbread those types of things, but they were hot, fresh, and tasty. And if you’re a fan of dipping things in ranch dressing, theirs is homemade and excellent.

The food was delicious and Catherine was an excellent server. We will not hesitate to return

Great ambience...lovely place to dine. The food was very tasty. Someone in our group got the sandwich with the shaved ribeye. The ribeye was a bit on the fatty side which led to the 4 stars. We would go again, just wouldn't order that type of sandwich. Good value and pleasant and attentive server.
