We went there last night because of the great reviews. Disappointed is how I would sum it up. We ordered the BBQ sampler. The chicken leg was so undercooked and tough. The ribs were good, but make sure you like a strong smoke flavor if you order. Beer was $10.50 each.
I hadn’t eaten here in a few months and this visit was extremely disappointing. At the hostess stand, we asked for a table the restaurant was empty. It was taking a few minutes and advised they were looking for a table strange response considering the area was empty. The menu has completely changed. If you thought of this place as a BBQ joint like it did, forget it. BBQ plates are gone. While you can still get a few options of BBQ, you have to get the sampler plate. Our server was nice and service was good, but the food was terrible. The quality they were once known for is not there. Ribs needed a steak knife, they did away with their original crispy fries for frozen fries. The waitress told us there was a new chef that was changing things up. The quality seems to have slipped and they said supply chain. But at the end of the day, I’d rather pay for quality food than the restaurant charging premium prices and low grade food. Been a customer for a long time, but that was my last time.
Great overall experience. Front of the house was pleasant and attentive. Staff was great with recommendations. We had the deviled eggs, oysters, and pimento cheese for apps. Oysters were new, came out smoking on a bed of wood chips, nice presentation. Main courses were great. I had the roast beef sandwich and wife had the pulled pork. Fries are amazing. If I had to nitpick, I would suggest using a single large ice cube in my old fashioned, cubed ice makes you want to chug it before it gets watered down, maybe that's the point though, lol. All jokes aside, great experience start to finish.
We had just arrived from Baltimore and wanted to grab lunch someplace different than the regular chains and we had an incredible lunch. Great waitress(Paige) took care of us and they even sell cigars ! The deviled eggs were amazing and we also got the Reuben and roast beef cheddar meat. Between the 2 I'd recommend the roast beef although both had a rich smoky taste. The IPAs and Seltzers topped off a great lunch
