Five of us met here for brunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We sat after 40 minutes. I assume they fight (like most places) to find the waiting staff as there were several open tables. That means our waiter was great. The food? Not so much. The “Ccheddar-Grotten” had no cheddar and were bland and watery. My waffle was so hard that I could hardly cut it and the chicken tender with it was incredibly dry-Neither were edible. Tabasco maple syrup? No, just cold normal syrup. Sausages and eggs were cold and bland. My daughter's friend was so kind to pick up the check, but I would like to get him a refund. The food was really scary. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I had a bad experience in southern culture. Skip this place.
Waiting are crazy during the brunch next to the long wait the food was good! Yummy French toast but portion is smaller than other dishes
This is the third time that I have visited southern culture in recent years. It had a strange experience this time. My wife and I came at 6:35 and spoke to the hostess. She told my wife we were 5 on the waiting list, took our number to call us when a table was ready and told us it was 1 hour. We looked around and counted 7 open tables. We sat at the bar while we waited. Both bartenders were excellent and offer great service. We saw 7 tables sitting as we got a call or text in the 25 minutes we were at the bar. I went to the host and she didn't recognize me since she spoke to my wife when we arrived. She asked how many and I sat right away. She didn't even check the waiting list and it was like she just gave it up. We had the penne pasta and chicken and waffles. My wife can't treat much spice, so she got the simple syrup. Both meals were fine. A good place to have a drink, but maybe not a whole meal.
Do not eat hereThis is going a be a none and done. My wife and I have a vacation home in Travelers Rest and when we come to visit our children and grandchildren we eat out most of the time. We visit 4-6 tines a year. We arrived at Southern Culture 20 minutes before they open on Sunday morning to avoid having to wait for a table. We were the first in line so first to be seated. The hostess chose to sit us at the table closest to the door. I asked for a different table. The hostess said let me check. She proceeded to seat the remaining patrons in line which at that point was 25 to 30 more patrons. She did not let us know what was happening she did not return to us. She simply ignored us and proceeded to seat everyone else in line. I approached the hostess stand and she informed me I would have to sit at the table I was assigned until everyone in line was seated. I asked for the manager and without apology or grace she said I could sit wherever I wanted. The lack of manners or basic hospitality was shocking. Do not eat here. Awful just awful.
