Shivani informed us that there would be a 45-minute wait for food. We hesitated but ultimately decided to wait. She quickly found us a table so we could have a drink while waiting. Shivani regularly checked on us and kept us updated on when our food would be ready. She was very pleasant and had a great attitude towards helping us. Thank you, Shivani!
We decided to dine at GBK before heading to a concert at the O2. Since it was a Saturday night, the restaurant was quite crowded, but we were willing to wait in line as other nearby restaurants were also busy. Once we were seated, we placed our order promptly and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, the burgers and sweet potato fries were cold, and we received the wrong side dish and sauce. We informed a staff member about the mistake, and it was corrected. While GBK has the potential to be better, we may consider giving it another try in the future. We felt it was important to share our experience in hopes of helping improve the service in the future.
Tiny burgers, awfully presented, confusing menu, warm flat beer, no cutlery or napkins at table, staff are friendly but not properly trained. Avoid
Service was non existent. We had to go to the counter to order our food, the food and drink was delivered to the table and the coffee was cold and the fries had been placed on the wrong plates, forcing us to shuffle the food between us. One star for service. One star for the Atmosphere, we were the only people on the restaurant yet still had to wait to be seated by the waitress. I guess that this was one of her few opportunities to earn a tip. There was nowhere to hang our outdoor wear such as coats, jackets and hats. In a word, the place was grim. Food would have been okay if it were served hot and to the correct customers. I had the beef pate which was small and lukewarm. The pate is served with fried onion ring on top. The onion ring consists of at least 60% batter and is added to the pate to increase the height by 2cm. This may help increase profits in the short term but Gourmet Burger Kitchen will lose return trade. There are no winners here, not the customer, or the staff or indeed the company as a whole.
My partner and I had a busy day in London and decided to grab a meal before heading home. We opted to try GBK, a burger joint we had been curious about for some time. We knew it might be a bit pricier, but we were looking for a proper sit-down meal with a good burger, and that's exactly what we got. We were greeted promptly upon arrival and seated by friendly staff. The menu had a good selection of burgers, and I ended up ordering the Mighty One, a massive 16oz burger! While you can order through an app at your table, we decided to order at the counter so my partner could inquire about gluten-free bun options. Ordering was a breeze, and I also enjoyed a pint of lager with my meal. We opted for the 3 sides deal, and all three sides were tasty - the chips were hot and the chicken pieces exceeded our expectations. We both went for large burgers, figuring we might as well go all out since we hadn't eaten all day, and we were not disappointed. Although the meal was on the pricier side, it was definitely worth it for the quality of food and overall dining experience. We usually eat healthy and don't indulge in burgers often, but this was one of the best burgers I've ever had - truly a Mighty One! I highly recommend stopping by GBK for a delicious burger treat.
