The Big Plate Cafe - Greenwich

Located on Shooters Hill Road just a short walk from Charlton Lido, this cafe offers friendly and welcoming service. They have a good variety of set meal options, with the set breakfast deals being particularly good value and well prepared. It's a great spot for a proper local cafe experience, especially if you're looking for a nice bacon breakfast.

Visited with my son and sister, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty too for a cafe. Prices were average. Parking was a problem, you can only park free for half hour which is not enough time to order and eat. So you have to call a number and pay via card, you can park for maximum 2 hours. I would use this cafe again.

I had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant with a delicious bacon roll topped with grilled tomatoes and melted cheese, and a toasted tuna and onion sandwich. The coffee was excellent and the toilets were very clean. It's a perfect spot for a quick bite to eat.

I discovered a hair in my traditional English breakfast, so I called the waitress over. She apologized and then walked away without addressing the issue. I was very upset, as the least they could have done was take the plate away and replace the food. They did not even offer a discount on the bill, so I had to specifically request not to pay for the hash browns. The lack of customer service and poor hygiene were very evident. The waitress seemed incompetent and didn't even understand what a runny egg was. I would not recommend this restaurant, not even for a casual meal with an ex-boyfriend.
