Hello. Today (5/19/23) my hubby and I tried Smokehouse bbq since my hubby found out about them online. We visited right after lunch around 1:30. As you walk in its a cool set-up. One side is seating the other is for ordering. They have a couple tv's to watch while eating. The decor is really cool with the metal ceiling and fun wall decor. The menu is up on a big chalk board. The different bbq sauces sit in the center on a table in buckets with a laddle inside WITHOUT lids. Not good. Not good. Maybe use closed containers with a spout.. We are the only patrons at this time but I believe they were doing orders as well. The young man that took our order was nice professional. It took about 15 minutes for us to get our food. It looked really good. I had brisket pork chop w/loaded potato and green beans platter. My hubby had the sausage, brisket, ribs w/baked beans and mac n cheese platter. My potato and green beans were hot but my meat choices were cold. My brisket was mostly fat and cold so I let the staff know and it was replaced. Better piece of meat but needed some flavor besides the bbq sauces. There were no seasonings on my hubby's rib and it was overcooked. He said the only thing good was his baked beans. The mac n cheese he thought was box and not homemade. There's a dessert case by the entrance that was in need of cleaning.
Not impressed . Paid 14 dollars for 2 sausage and what I am pretty sure is GFS Mac n cheese and coleslaw. I would like to say the sausage was good , but both links were raw in the middle , so I wouldn't eat it. The Mac n cheese looked like was on its third reheat from a hot hold and was cooked into mush . The coleslaw was flavorless , not even salt or pepper in it . I don't know where they learned to make garlic bread , but in real BBQ , we toast both sides of the bread ..... At least the ice tea was good. It would be worthwhile to hire a food stylist to teach some plating techniques too..... It literally looked someone just dumped bowls onto a plate ...... Oh yeah .... The chicken on the chicken nachos was as cold as the refrigerated salsa .... So yeah , as you can see , it was not a good experience , and not a place I would recommend. We went to the brewery next door and had beer and pizza ... It was delicious !!!
I mean what I am about to say with all due respect. The food was fresh I will give it that! However, the brisket and the ribs were extremely bland! I mean no seasoning, no flavor at all! The brisket was smoked but the ribs were not even though they claimed to be. They were baked or roasted instead! Also, unfortunately my chicken thighs had blood in them. The mac and cheese had no flavor at all. it was fresh but it was bland and it was pasty. Today was the first time I had ever ordered from the place so I thought I would give it a try. I will be sticking with City barbeque going forward. I spent a lot of money there and I'm angry that I didn't enjoy the meal. We actually started throwing it away. And I'm not just saying that. Before throwing it out we tried to dress it up with seasonings from at home but it just wasn't the same. Because the food wasn't cooked with the seasoning it just didn't turn out right. I spent a lot of money at that place.I just thought it would be nice to try someplace else for a change. But I guess that's what I get!
This was our first visit. We use the coupon for chicken dinner. We came early like 300 PM. Service was par. Server did not ask what side we want. Course business slow at 3. Understaff. Waited about 20 min. Server brought our dinner minus silverware and napkins. Not thoughtful. Food was good. Would not go back. Sorry.
