I ordered the baked chicken with mushrooms, spinach, and garlic cream sauce, along with grilled potatoes. The service was incredibly quick and friendly. It happened to be my birthday, and the hostess went out of her way to surprise me with a large oatmeal cookie topped with a candle and a rendition of "Happy Birthday." It was a charming gesture that made my day. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I went to this restaurant last week. There were only 3 other customers in the place, but it took an hour to receive a poorly-tasting meal. The waitress was friendly, but she kept apologizing for the delay because they had a new cook who should have been better trained. Despite the long wait and lackluster food, there was no offer to discount the bill.
One person in our group ordered the Beef Burgundy, which looked like shredded beef and was unappetizing. My wife ordered the Parmesan Crusted Haddock with mashed potatoes, but when it arrived, the fish looked mutilated and greasy, with burnt potatoes instead of mashed. The waitress admitted there was a mistake but didn't communicate it to the server. The food was taken back to the kitchen and returned with mashed potatoes, but they were added on top of the greasy leftovers from the previous potatoes. Additionally, the carrots were cold and undercooked. My meal arrived at 7:10, after everyone else had finished eating. I ordered the baked Penne, which was hot from being under a salamander to melt the cheese on top, but the penne itself was barely warm and the garlic toast was dry and tasteless. The only positive note was that because my meal took so long, they gave me a complimentary salad. The waitress used disrespectful terms like "hon" and "dear" instead of addressing us as sir and ma'am, as we would expect in a good restaurant. When we voiced our dissatisfaction with the service and food, it seemed like our complaints were ignored. They did not charge for my wife's meal, but considering the poor quality of the food and service, it was the least they could do.
We have driven by the Gallery Grill countless time and never stopped into eat. That changed June 1st, and what pleasant surprise. Food was fantastic, wife had the pan fried haddock, I had the special. The staff was very friendly, and attentive and food was very good. Will be a regular place to eat from now on.
Stopped in for supper tonight. Had the Fettucine Alfredo with Shrimp and Garlic Bread. The pasta was plenty creamy and tasty but the garlic bread really made dinner. Nice and crispy. Flavourful without overpowering garlic. Would have tried one of the desserts, but I was full. I'll go back.
