Cafe Linie Neun - Griesheim

I went there again after 10 years. The reason I stopped going there back then was the same reason I won 't go there again. Bad service. It took quite some time to get the drinks we wanted, even tho the place wasn 't even very crowded. Not even half the seats were taken. When we got our food, there were no questions if everythhing is allright after a couple of minutes. So we had to wait to get salt and pepper (nowhere to find). At least the salad was ok, nothing special but solid. We got raided from flies during our dinner (we sat outside) so that 's nothing the place is to blame for but after we finished nobody felt the need to pick up the stuff so the flies got on our nerves pretty badly. We even placed the dishes on the neighbor table to get a break from the flies. We waited 10 minutes but nobody wanted to clear the table. (owner and waitress walked around but did nothing) At one point I ! had to stop the owner and let him know that we want to get rid of the plates because of the flies... The answer was oh are you finished? I mean really? We put the plates on another table... What else is needed to show that we are finished? After that we decided to get a couple of drinks at another place. We tipped little to nothing and If i am a waitress who gets a very very small tip I would at least ask if everything was allright or not, to get a glimpse what went wrong here but no interest at all. Just sad.

I 've been there many times with my friends, mostly drinking beer and having some decent meal like burgers, salads or Käse mit Musik (I must say a very good addition to beer). Also periodically there are concerts made by local bands, which costs additional money for the entrance but that 's worthwhile. A bad thing is waitress there can be very very slow, so you should be very proactive to get even additional beer.

I've been here a couple of times. On both occasions, I've had a decent meal (burger, salad, tacos, that sort of thing) and a few glasses of decent beer! There is a small seating area out the back of the cafe with wooden chairs and tables. It can get pretty busy during the summer, as there is a good mix of locals enjoying some food. The garden is a bit shaded in the late afternoon or evening, so even I managed to find a place where I wouldn't get burned to a crisp. The location is right on the edge of the city centre of Griesheim it's relatively quiet, but you are in a residential area so don't expect wild parties until late into the night.

If you walk across the street to the bakery/hotel Notenagel , you might find a more comfortable ambience..... All of our friends and business acquaintances that we put in the hotel commented that the breakfast French were possibly the best, they had ever had.
