Montgomery's Sandwich Shop - Grinnell

This is our favorite place for a meal while visiting Grinnell. And we are here about every 6 weeks. The corn nuggets are wonderful, and we enjoy the grilled chicken sandwich (which, I know, is not the core menu item here).

Those burgers are delicious! Soups and chili are always great also.

Well ordered 2 tenderloins and all American. And a kids meal chicken strips. The tenderloins were both soggy and the taste was a bit off. Walked in and just immediately got stared at by every employee in the place without so much as a greeting. Then had to ask for a menu as the casher/waiter was to busy staring at us. Ordered to go. Not to mention they had already stacked chairs on the tables so we ordered to go. Definitely will never stop in again.

Not great, but also not terrible. Menu, food and service are all typical diner fare. Nothing special or excellent, nor horrible. Parking when the place is quiet is ok, although I don't like backing onto a highway to leave, the lot is very small, fewer parking spaces than seating capacity.

Excellent small family owned diner. Spent weeks looking for a quality tenderloin before I finally ate here and found The Best Tenderloin in all of grinnell. Also don't miss out the proud lose meat sandwiches they've been serving for decades. Don't listen to the reviews from the Karen's and punks to broke to afford covid inflation. Service is speedy with friendly workers who want nothing but to make sure you leave completely satisfied.
