Umi Sushi Pacifica - Grover Beach

Without a doubt, this restaurant has the best and freshest sushi in the city. I have never been disappointed.

I received a gift card for this restaurant and was excited to take a guest with me based on all the positive reviews I had heard. However, upon arrival, we waited for about 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us or greeting us. Eventually, a waitress approached us abruptly to inform us that they were overbooked and had run out of food. I felt embarrassed and had to apologize to my guest. This level of service is completely unacceptable.

Great atmosphere but sushi rolled loosely very little in it, spring roll wrapper's were so chewy I had to get it out of my mouth. Fish is fresh. Presentation is nice. Service is good friendly. Quality for the price is no better than the last time I came in. A bit over priced. If I want sushi I will be trying other places

Came here for dinner with friends yesterday and it was every bit as good as I remember it. This was our go to spot for sushi many years ago. They still have the personal touch to ingredient selection and preparation that makes them exceptional! The nigiri selection is super. The rolls really feature the fish (not the drowned out in sauces like so many others). Even the salads are so fresh I couldn't get any better if I went out to the garden and picked it myself. Do be aware though, this is a place for a leisurely meal. The kitchen is small and everything is prepared to order it may take 10 or 15 minutes for your first item to come out. The service is exceptional, it's not fast.
