Maybe it's because I lived in SoCal for 20 years, but I found this Chinese fast food spot to be rather tasteless. I ordered the Beef Lo Mein with extra beef. The noodles tasted of starch, the beef was scant and the overall dish lacked the amount of onions and flavor I've enjoyed at other places. I also ordered the spare rib appetizer and again, the flavor was flat. The pork egg roll was the same. We also had the steamed dumplings which had the same flavor problem and was starchy in profile as well. The sauce (I assume ponzu) had the same problem with flavor. I've noticed a lack of seasoning in almost all the Vermont restaurants I've been to and I am beginning to wonder if this is a regional thing to have flavorless food. This was my first order and probably the last from Fu Da.
I placed an order for delivery and one of my items was forgotten. I called the restaurant and they offered to either refund me or to deliver the forgotten item. I asked for it to be delivered and they had it delivered fairly quickly. Food was delicious and hot, can't complain at all. They are quick to correct mistakes and all in all, their food really hits the spot. This is for sure my go-to Chinese restaurant in the area.
Highly recommend Single Pebble instead for a healthy meal or just about any Asian food place in town. These quick American Chinese places can be very poor for health. I wish they would wisen up and cook more healthy substitutes which are not cooked in so much unhealthy food substances which are just toxic for even pets let alone humans. Couldn’t these options be made more healthy? If so, I’ll change my rating.
Delicious!!!! very good food with generous portions
