I wish it was more communicated on their website that they had a prix fixe menu going outside of the “check our social media for seasonal menus”, which was located in the middle of an “about us”esque paragraph that you don’t expect to have to read before you book somewhere. I wasn’t expecting to look for anything outside of the normal menu, so I didn’t. I ended up spending much more than I anticipated. Maybe user error though : Additionally, when I made a reservation they gave me the option to express preference for where we were sat— either away from the piano or close to. I requested to be away from the piano and they placed us directly next to the piano. The pianist was lovely, I just didn’t want to be placed there. Lastly, I ordered the lobster bisque that was plated in a very shallow dish. It was unpleasant to try and eat it, but it was good nonetheless. That being said, I would come back.
We were there on a VMI family weekend. When the reservation was made, no mention of a limited, fixed price menu was made. The food was okay, but not even close to worth the price. The server was downright rude when we asked about the menu. As for atmosphere, very disappointing. We were seated next to the piano and it was way too loud. Conversation was impossible. It was a very disappointing experience and we will not be back, family weekend or not.
LOVE Haywoods! Great food every time we have been. Great drinks and amazing staff. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere can't be beat. I'd ask for a table a little away from the piano if you want to enjoy conversation.
Enjoyed our 2nd Anniversary here tonight with great food and great atmosphere. I want to especially thank the pianist for playing our wedding song.
Dined here on 10/4 for our anniversary dinner which was noted in our OpenTable reservation. Upon arrival, neither host nor waitress acknowledged the occassion. Atmosphere is visually appealing, but AC was blasting too cold and noise level very high. Adjacent couple also complained about AC. Service was non existent. The waitress that took our food order never returned to our table to take our wine order or to ask how are meal was, only saw her again when she delivered the bill. Food My wife ordered the Lobster Pasta which had a bland sauce and a very minimal amount of lobster, totally NOT worth the $38. I had the Halibut which was average. I will NOT return to Haywood 's. The prior night we dined next door at 'Bistro on Main ' and enjoyed a much better experience from start to finish.
