The staff was kind and apologetic so that made it not so bad.Food was very yummy but there were zero gluten free options. I have Celiac disease so I had to make special requests, which I'm sure the kitchen just loved, and I was very sick the next day because of cross contamination. Next time I will bring my own dinner in our room and my family can order from the restaurant.Normally would have marked as poor but they redeemed themselves at breakfast. Lots of options and everything was delicious. Over all, just average not outstanding. Would mark higher if they offered a gluten free menu in future.
Located in the Holiday Inn Conference centre in Guelph my daughter, friend and her daughter decided on forgoing a trip outside the hotel for dinner (the weather was not cooperating) and decided to give the hotel restaurant a try. We were pleasantly surprised to find the food was quite tasty :) I enjoyed the shrimp lingiune and my friend the burger. The kids ate free and shared the kids chicken fingers and kids burger (which was pretty much the size of the adult one!).Our server was attentive and polite and never overbearing. Such a nice surprise as sometimes its a miss with hotel dining. Happy to say we were not disappointed :)
Took my elderly mom here for Christmas lunch- and wow it was wonderful! We had a nice quiet table for 2....there was a mixture of groups when we were there, some tables of 10-12 people, and lots of tables of 2,4,6...didn't see any children when we were there?.The choice of hot dishes was amazing, turkey, stuffing, roast beef and ham carved for you, pasta, fish, huge selection of cakes and desserts, and salad, bread bar. I was given my own craft of hot organic wonderful coffee! It was very quiet-no loud music..great for conversations, they had lots of staff on....it was immaculate, food was all hot, and constantly being replaced. The bar was open for ordering drinks. I would go back for Christmas lunch again!!! Be sure to phone and reserve weeks before x-mas to get the best times! They do a buffet for x-mas dinner too! The only thing I would have liked would have been Christmas serviettes rather than cloth brown ones.....and a red bud vase on the tables and perhaps a tealight candle would have been nice. So what it lacked in decorations, it made up for in food! Lunch buffet was roughly $30 per person-dinner buffet is more. Why spend x-mas in the kitchen....treat yourself-you won't be disappointed!
I've eaten here several times and the food is consistently good and so is the service. I've enjoyed every meal. The ribs are not my favorite but that is just personal preference to sauce types. Theirs is very tomato-based.
Was very impressed on my stay here. Had breakfast and dinner both days and was pleased with the food as well as the service. The bartender (grant?) remembered not only my name but my drink order on my second night. The restaurant manager personally checked to see how my dinner was and she gave me some info as to the local menu they offer. Terrific stay and would definitely recommend for the superb service and overall quality.
