Fionn MacCool's Irish Pub - Guelph

Booked a reservation and showed to find the restaurant closed and out of business.

Our server was Dani. She was very nice. Service and food was good.

Waited 20 minutes and never once saw a server. Only one other table on the patio and they were complaining about the service as well. Eventually brought our order to the bar and offered to bring the drinks back to our table for them. 10 minutes later the bartender still hadn’t started making our drinks so we left. Will never go back. Perhaps it will continue to run itself into the ground and we will get a new chain restaurant there soon.Despite being busy, Beertown squeezed us onto the patio and we had drinks in 5 minutes.

The food was average pub food, and the condition of the restaurant itself is telling... Things are falling apart and it doesn 't look like anyone cares. There are cracks in the vinyl seats, the back of the seat in the booth we were sitting in had been held up by duct tape and was hanging there after it fell off and was left unfixed, the landing at the top of the stairs where the bathrooms are was so poorly lit I felt like I was at nightclub, and the bathrooms...ewww. They smelled like backed up sewage, the music was really loud, and they were just dirty. The lighting in the restaurant is really low, too... Even in the middle of the day. Our server, Olivia, was incredibly annoying... She was inauthentic, she said, Cheers! after every single interaction, and she looked as though she would have been happy to be anywhere else. We were also told that our gift cards couldn 't be used because Fionn 's no longer had a relationship with Ultimate dining. She said it stopped in November and people had until March or April to use them... How would I know? Overall, we won 't be back.

Picked up 2 orders of fish ? ? chips was great? fish was good size portions, fries are homesite with skin on, gravy could be a bigger size for $3, and lemon ? bigger size as got a small sliver for 2 pieces of fish, cold slaw was very tiny and only shredded red cabbage no taste. All in all always enjoyed the fish. ????????
