However, customers are also left waiting waiting for food to arrive from the kitchen while the kitchen turns out an endless string of takeout bags for local delivery. The salads were excellent, but the pizza that my kids ordered was bland and over priced. My main course pasta dish was mixed up by the server. She took it away and told me that she would have the correct dish prepared by the kitchen. She came back soon thereafter to say it would be about 10 minutes for them to prepare the correct dish but the kitchen is busy. And it was busy, turning out dishes not for customers in the restaurant but for takeout services. In the end my family finished their meals, I paid the bill and then waited 10 minutes more before I finally received my dinner (boxed to go since we didn 't have all night to wait for the kitchen to correct a mistake). I wish I could say the wait was worth it, but the Fettucine ai Porcini disappointed as much as the pesto sauce did on my wife 's pasta. La Cucina needs to pay far more attention to the customers who go into the restaurant and provide them with higher quality food and better service or it should just close the restaurant and focus on delivery services. It 's clearly incapable of doing both.
Living a familiar atmosphere, not only for the welcoming and hospitable environment but also for the choice of the menu, which reflects the tastes of an Italian in Canada. La Cucina- Alfredo's. Ristorante -Pizzeria 43 Wyndham StN
La Cucina used to be high end authentic Italian and I don’t mind paying for quality. Something has changed in both quality and price and not in a good way. $30 for pasta with lobster and shrimp in 1 dish and $30 for what seamed like canned clams in black spaghetti. 2 shrimp and 1 sliver of lobster in a dish that would have cost less than $5 to prepare and $2 canned clams and zucchini also less than $5 to prepare. Service was also slow and very beach pub, care less attitude mentality. Way overpriced … especially when you can make better pasta at home out of a can at the grocery store. Don’t mind paying for quality and this place is 1 step below East Side Mario’s Sorry (not really), but we did not enjoy our last meal here.
The service was excellent. Our waitress had perfect timing, the food came out quickly and tasted excellent. Tomato and cheese caprese was a great appetizer and the steak and pasta were well done. Very happy with the service and the food, we will definitely be back.
My husband and I celebrated our 37th anniversary last week and went to La Cucina for dinner. The staff are warm and friendly, the restaurant reminds me of Italy the stone, the wine wall, the crazy ceramic wood fired pizza oven….such a welcoming atmosphere. The food was great and the prices were reasonable. We started with calamari was one of the best we have had. He had the oso buco. Excellent!
