They serve cars on the drive thru while others and wait several minutes. The line of complaint is absolute joke and it is all about very bad service. I stopped going to this place and rarely eat more because of the Woodlawn place
At 12:30 I went to the store to buy lunch for my children, my wife and I, I ordered what I always wanted for our family (Transaction 1LN5H1J24K) Store 40281 At 243 Woodlawn Ave. in Guelph, everything went well with the person who had helped me, then a woman, her name tag said Sam First Manager who overheard what I ordered and asked. I immediately knew there was a problem, from her tone in the direction, her comedy and her stars, I didn't know what the problem was, so I didn't say anything, she took the balance of my order, the last three points on the transaction number that would be connected to the entrance. The sum of my order was $93.18, and I opened my wallet to pay a card while I fell over, I pulled out a card and she cries “There is a signature on the back of this card, I said I did not decide which card to use and there are signatures on the back of all my cards, then she said: “You have photo ID, with your signature, which will correspond to the signature on the card,” she said. At this point I knew exactly why she had asked the other cashier to go, I was black all my life, so I am aware of what happened. I asked her why it was that she had to see a photo ID from me, and not only that, but asked her why she had to check and compare the signature from my card with that from the photo identification. At that time there was a line behind me and a few people who had used the kiosk to place their orders were also there. She told me the reason was: "This was the policy of McDonald 's to use the identification of anyone who use a card for all purchases over $25. It was at this point that I raised my voice to make sure that all in the business was aware of the situation and what was going exactly. I said no chance that makes no sense if both kiosks were not in use, I would have used one and then how would you check my identification. When I started to get angry and other customers started to react in unbelief what I went through them, she said "fein go and pay." I did this with the intention to put this incident behind me. After I paid, I pulled out my driver's license, my health card and a few credit cards and showed my identification. But that was not the end of my experience, she then introduced me a part of the receipt, so that she could testify and compare my signature, I can't believe this happened to me in Canada in 2022, I can't believe it. The pure, undeniable, in the open, shameless racism, which completely discredits and dehumanizes me before both males and employees. After my signature, I asked, "no chance in hell." No chance, please excuse my language. I then pulled out my credit card and asked for a refund, but she wouldn't give me one if this didn't happen to me, I would say it was a joke if some of the other males hadn't approached me from the well to offer their support and contact information, I would think this was a dream that had turned into a nightmare. I had to take the order, I went to get the drinks in my truck, and one of the employees brought it out and tried to apologize. After everything that occurred, I could not even get a refund, I was forced to take the product. Now the question is, how was I forced to take the product? There is no doubt why she refused to reimburse my money, she saw how angry I was on the happening, and she thought by rejecting my refund I would have been so much angry, and then in an anger or blind by emotions and anger, I would have done something stupid so that she could then call the police. Imagine how this would have happened if I had taken the bait "Blackman, Money, McDonald 's, Police". Yeah, the next words would have been shot dead as Black Man shot dead on McDonalds to get money. We all know the most likely result for any interaction in which a black man and the police are involved, If you have a different explanation to go to refuse me a refund other than the escalation of the situation, please I ask to hear it. I had not received any products yet, not even the cups for the wells drinks so that is also a new directive from McDonald 's no refund for an unfortunate customer. As I said, we have nine children three big children and one on the way, and I was black all my life and I didn't want to go into this trap. I have experienced racism, from individuals, from companies, from institutions, but I cannot remember a place where it was so blatant, so on your face, so intentionally, so planned, so pious, I felt so humble, like nothing, no one should feel so that nobody has to experience that, not only the impact on me, but on my family. The time is now 2:16, as I went through my door at 1:05, I did not speak to my family, I sat for a while and then decided to write this letter, they still try to find out what is wrong, and why I went to get McDonald 's and came home with a pizza. No one should experience the trauma I experienced in McDonald's store 4021, no one! What kind of person would I be if I did nothing and everything to ensure that no other black person, no person experienced this in a place where most of us with children and grandchildren could not avoid if we wanted?
I was dressed in old clothes, just finished a run to the recycling site. All right and well treated. New employees learned the money system and the manager was very patient with her. I took my order quickly. Zero problems because I wore a mask and knew that the dining area was closed.
One drop to eat a fast bite, but was not allowed to sit somewhere, not even outside, by order of paranoid, hypochondriac management. While waiting for my food to be processed, I saw what seemed to be a hysterical manager screaming at a man who was clearly homeless, that I also saw that he was asking for a change in the parking lot. He rocked back and forth and talked to himself. Put a mask on or get out of the restaurant. She cried. The poor guy could hardly articulate what he wanted, had clearly a psychiatric disorder and although he managed to tell her that he was medically freed, she refused to believe him and insisted that he had no excuse before throwing a nap on him and yelling at him to cover his face. He was clearly blurred and confused. The young students at the counter were far more mature and accommodating than this woman. Will never return to this place again. Transferred settings, rude customer treatment and excessive fear mongering.
A convenient enough location, though you kind of have to know that it is there as it is far enough away from both the Hanlan and Hwy 6 to make it less evident to people driving through the city. It has kind of a strange parking lot as you have to walk over the drive thru lane which is not the safest design.
