This is a great spot for a campus pub, the food is surprisingly good. It feels like coming home again. As alumni, we ordered the Mac and cheese and a beer.
I have eaten here many times over the years and the one consistent thing that I feel that this pub is doing sports. If you love sports bars, this is a good pub to come. The food is better than the usual pub fare and its not very expensive. I wouldn't be here for a date, but just eating a quick something if landscape isn't a factor for you. The service can be a little slow and its mostly full of young college students but given the location that is expected.
This is a fairly typical small bar and restaurant served very generic university pub-style food. Have fun for those at university, love memories for those of us who were in the past. A bit from the way to a casual dinner, but the consistency and the fun atmosphere make it a good choice for a casual fun night.
We attended The Brass Taps for a Brewery Fest. Ten different breweries were set up around the walls of the pub, allowing us to sample a variety of beers. We sat at a table, tried different beers, and enjoyed a couple of burgers. I highly recommend the burger with the 40 Creek BBQ sauce - it was delicious! The sweet potato fries were excellent, and they also made a great Greek salad. The prices were reasonable. Guelph, you have a hidden gem!
