Three of us had chosen the vegetable tartlet and two the chicken supreme, both of which were excellent. The mackerel pate and soup starters were also delicious. The crowning glory was the apricot crumble and custard the best we had tasted in ages. All the food was beautifully pressented. When we arrived we noticed there was a buffet (for students? with some mouthwatering items on display Mushroom and Goats Cheese Pithiviers, Battenberg cake, meringues and much more. We were able to buy some (actually lots of these as we left. My partner and I had the pithiviers for lunch today, and I wish I'd bought more! The young waiting staff were lovely most attentive and put up with our jokes with great good humour. We hope they are successful in their chosen profession. Do go there you won't regret it.
One of the students had organised the evening in aid of charity. It was on an Alice in Wonderland theme. The whole style/ethos was excellent. We were greeted with a labelled drink me bottle of pink lemonade and shown through a curtain to the dining area, which was beautifully set out on the Alice theme. Every table had a different central display which harmonised with the theme. The whole meal was organised and served by students, but do not think that harmed the quality. The menu was imaginative and, again, tuned to match the Alice theme, even down to the the bread (which was delicious). The attention to detail was impressive. The food was cooked well and beautifully presented and the service was efficient and friendly. There is also a bar, if further drinks are required. You will gather that I was very impressed.
I attended as my charity was chosen by one of the students for her event as part of her course. I was greeted by friendly staff students. It was a fantastic evening with lovely food great service.
This restaurant goes from strength to strength. The quality of food and service were outstanding. In addition to the main menu I loved the home-made bread in an impressive display and the delicious canapés. Unbeatable value for money.
The dinner was delicious with unexpected canapes to start and pancakes to finish. The service was very friendly and it was great value for money.
