My wife really wanted some good shrimp after having some overcooked, hard to peel shrimp the previous night at another restaurant and she was very happy. We ordered a shrimp appetizer of boiled, chilled shrimp. Shrimp heaven! Perfect! For our entrees, I had the blackened Redfish and my wife had the low country boiled shrimp with sausage, corn, and new potatoes. My Redfish was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the remoulade sauce was terrific. My wife had asked for the mildest version of the boil. She thought it was still too spicy (I sampled it and thought it was great ? . The server gave her a glass of water to dip the shrimp into to wash off some of the Cajun spices and she was happy again. She was so happy that she wanted another shrimp appetizer! The only bad part was that we were too full to enjoy a banana pudding for dessert (it was fantastic 10 years ago , but we plan on going back again for our anniversary dinner in a couple of days. Thanks to Dee's and our server (Jack for a wonderful experience! EDIT: The food was so good went back two days later for our anniversary dinner. My wife had the same low country boil minus the Cajun seasoning and was very happy. I had the blackened Grouper with fried Cajun potatoes and it was terrific! And this time we save room for dessert--tasty banana pudding for me and key lime pie for my wife.
Loved this place! Erica was very attentive and took great care of us. Food was amazing! We shared the Cajun platter and the fried shrimp platter. I highly recommend both! Very generous portions. Everything we ordered was hot and delicious all the way to the french fries. My favorite was the chicken gumbo on the Cajun platter. Don’t waste your time with those other touristy subpar menus. This place is SO MUCH better!! I will add I took pictures after we had already started eating and sharing food.
Everyone enjoyed their dishes! Our waitress was very kind and efficient.
What a great meal. I don't eat seafood, but hubby says this restaurant has the best. Tasty, attractive food. Extremely friendly staff. The executive chef came out to see how we enjoyed the food. Now, that's old-fashioned hospitality. We will be back.
NOT GLUTEN FREE. THEY FRY EVERYTHING IN THE SAME FRYER. Be warned: FAMILY MEMBER WITH CELIAC WILL GET VERY SICK. THIS PLACE IS NOT GLUTEN FREE AT ALL. NOT EVEN THE FRYER. EXTREMELY RUDE MGRS SERVERS WHEN ASKING ABOUT GLUTEN FREE ACTUALLY!! BE AWARE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC OR A WHEAT ALLERGY. TAKE MY ADVICE AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!! It’s that serious. I recommend nothing and the waitstaff is unacceptable on their knowledge to serve food allergies. The crab legs will be served to you ice cold. And they don’t mention this- but they hit you with 2.5% extra charge to use a credit card. Dietary restrictions: They offer salad to be gluten free and that’s the end of that whole story.
