The Shed - Gulfport

I hadn't been to the shed in years and my family and I went today. That was the worst food I had in a long time. The ribs were tough the wings were slimy. None of the meat was good, my kids filled up on French fries and the bread. I'll never go back and will discourage everyone I know not to waste their money. The BBQ at convenient stores is better.

This place is AMAZING! I got the shed platter with collard greens, baked beans, and sweet potato casserole. Not only was I full but I was able to have my leftovers for lunch the next day! Love this place, I'll drive to MS to eat here....

This restaurant definitely has a unique atmosphere. From the junkyard vibe as you approach to the gravel floor dining area, you know you're in for an uncommon experience. Our group enjoyed the meats—chicken, pulled pork, and brisket—with the brisket being the standout favorite. However, the sides left something to be desired. While the potato salad and sweet potatoes were decent, the macaroni and cheese was excessively cheesy, and the beans tasted only slightly better than canned. Additionally, charging $3 for a side feels a bit steep. Nonetheless, if you're looking for excellent BBQ meat—which should always be the highlight at any BBQ joint—the Shed is definitely worth a visit.

This was my first visit to this location, and it was just as fantastic as the other one, but with air conditioning! The staff is incredibly friendly and gives you a warm welcome when you arrive. The atmosphere is so lively that I almost forget just how much I love the food. Honestly, the baked potato salad is so delicious that we have to order a quart to take home. The sweet potato casserole, although clearly loaded with butter, tastes just like Thanksgiving dinner without all the effort. My husband and I enjoy sharing the sampler plate, which comes with two types of ribs (both are amazing), brisket (which is more like shredded roast beef—delicious, but not what you might expect), pork, sausage (crispy on the outside yet tender and juicy inside), chicken, and chicken wings. I can't recommend this place highly enough! We absolutely love it!

Just a few minutes off I-10, this place is definitely worth the detour. The barbecue is excellent, and they also offer a nice selection of local beers, though it's small.
