In recent times I have also found some limited vegetarian options, and the vegetarian ‘mutton’ nasi lemak is definitely a good substitute. If you are vegan you have to ask them to omit the egg.
I dined here a few years ago and wasn't impressed at all. Saw that it was in the entertainment book and thought I'd give it a second go. Really glad I did as the food was much better this time round. Roti was cooked well as was the beef curry. Fried chicken was also great. Our only let down was the chicken dumplings which came out freezing cold. Staff were able to give us a new plate within 10 minutes though. Really quick service as well if you're in a hurry.
Service is good. I tried curry fish fillet. It is nice and fish fillet is very fresh. Serving is very big too. Tou Fu Far is nice with Gula Melaka.
It's no secret that I'm a fan of PappaRich. Obviously not the PappaRich restaurants in Malaysia itself, where the authentic food is so readily available on the streets for cheaper, but internationally. I think PappaRich is doing a great job introducing reliably tasty Malaysian dishes to many people outside of Malaysia. I've so far been to PappaRich restaurants in three different countries, and they were all sufficiently good representations of Malaysian cuisine. Of course, nothing compares to the real authentic experience of eating Malaysian food on the streets of Malaysia itself, but beggars can't be choosers! When we were in Perth a couple of months ago, we had the opportunity to try out PappaRich in Joondalup twice. It's located close by to my parents' and siblings' homes in the same suburb, which made it an easy and convenient choice of meeting point. The food was, as expected, delicious. Service was friendly and helpful, especially given that our family is really big with lots of kids and my elderly parents.
I like Malaysian food and it's a nice place to eat when you crave Laksa or Nasi Lemak. Lots of variety on the menu, food is usually very tasty. Service is fast. Prices are reasonable. What should be the star of the show, the satay , are actually average and they should be better, larger, tastier, more of the grilled and flame flavour. I will keep eating here though.
