Surabhi Restaurant at Hotel Elite

We went tonthis restaurant on recommendation but were a bit disappointed. The dinner choices were very limited and the service was poor. The service staff was not pleasant or helpful- could be beacuse we spoke no Malayalam ( the local language)The tiffins were good but Thali was cold and average.

The ambience of the restaurant was good and neat. What a disappointment - mind youat 7.15am- we were told that they have only idly vada and no other items.This at GURUVAYUR where everyone gets ready by 2.45 am for nirmalya darshan of GURUVAYURAPPAN and travellers start moving to other temples in the area. OK only idly vada is available -accepted. When one expects steaming idly what was served was not even in room temperature . Request Elite to look into this feature for necessary remedial action. This does not gel with the place where the travellers are around and moving to other places after morning darshan of GURUVAYURAPPAN .Ar

The restaurant is conveniently located within walking distance of the temple and offers plenty of parking. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-kept. I highly recommend staying here.

This restaurant has got an excellent menu as well as very good service. They also serve food in the rooms of Hotel Elite, the charges being included in your room bill. They also provide packed food for those people who come in late night or get out very early in the morning. Definitely recommended for families with small children.

We tried a variety of dishes throughout the day and thought the food was mediocre. The dosas were passable, while the aapam was tasty. The Kadala curry and puttu were also good. However, the service was terrible. The waiter seemed reluctant to serve us and repeatedly claimed that certain items were no longer available, even when they weren't.
