It is a very nice looking place that combines cafe, gift shop, arts and crafts, and an insight to local history and culture. The latter is primarily via an exhibition of photos about the town, the slate works and the people who have lived and worked here over the generations. It is very well done and we found it most interesting. We didn’t stay for coffee but met the charming lady who works here and who served us when we bought some nice slate coasters from the gift shop. Wot? Slate from Blaenau Ffestiniog? It just had to be done! This is a really nice place and I highly recommend it whether just for coffee or for everything else it has to offer.
Cafe run by a local enterprise for locals and tourists alike. Includes a craft shop and clothing department which are very popular with visitors. The cafe serves snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic), including lovely selection of coffees. The service at Antur 'Stiniog is always pleasant and very efficient. An art gallery, (no charge) is also situated here. Positioned conveniently right in the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog, very near the Ffestiniog and Conwy Valley Railway stations. Well worth a visit.
This place is handy for discovering what's on in the area, and has a mix of tables and sofas to sit on to read the Tourist Information atthe same time as enjoying a tasty cup of coffee or a Hot Ribena! There is also the addition of an adjoining Shop specialising in Outdoor Gear and slate momentoes. If visiting the Town of Blaenau Ffestiniog to go to one of its' many Tourist attractions, this is an excellent place to start!
Called in for a warm cuppa on an icy day, such a lovely welcome and one of the best cups of tea I've had in a very long time. Combined with a lovely shop and art gallery and friendly locals, I just can't fault this place. So much so, that when passing through the town the following day we made a point of stopping to go back for another visit this time including a delicious hot cheese scone and a few tips to help with our attempts to learn Welsh. Can't think of anything bad to say about this lovely little cafe.
Excellent quality coffee at great prices. Staff friendly and happy. Loyalty cards available too. The shop also has some good quality clothing and a wide range of gifts and souvenirs from your visit
