We try to come here at least once a month for a family dinner we try something different each time & the food is to die for great service & what ever you want mild medium hot or somewhere in between just ask them & they get it just perfect
Sorry but my experience was average. It was like the curries were made on the cheap. Because the sauces were not rich and flavoursome. They appeared to be thickened with corn flour or something of the like. Naan had no butter on it it was dry I don't think I'll be back. Sorry
Ambrosia Indian Restaurant is the place to go if you are looking for good quality food in Gympie. It's my favorite Indian Restaurant.
OK , we've avoided most Asian here in Gympie , as the majority of reviews , and our own experiences , have made us somewhat "gunshy" , many offer what looks like good food , but the delivery is often a disappointment. So , with that in mind , we gave Ambrosia a go. First I tried the online ordering system , only to give up. but they got back to me quickly with an email and another link that worked perfectly , seems the website is undergoing a rebuild , but works pretty good now.I ordered a substantial takeaway order , and said a 12:15 P/UGot there at 12:12 , did not have to wait long , left by 12:20Staff were pleasant , informative and the delivery was well sorted and labelled properly . We all know how frustrating it is to get a decent order of takeaway home , only to find it's all in unlabelled tubs , so you have to play "guess the dish" , an unnecessary burden !We ordered the Sample platter of Tandoor entrees , and Onion Bhaji to start , Garlic Naan & Roti , mains were Palak Paneer , Butter Chicken & Lamb Rogan Josh , all accompanied by rice & side dishes of Raita , Chutney , Yoghurt etc, with Poppadoms. The onion Bhaji is the best we've experienced in QLD , and also the Poppadoms , crisp , not oily. The sample platter chicken pieces were excellent , the kabob piece good , but to us needed more seasonings. Now to the mains; The Palak Paneer was a delight , well balanced , a good mix of the spinach & cheese , & well seasoned. The Butter Chicken was Chicken Tikka pieces , in a butter sauce , the sauce was good , but a little sweet for our tastes , overall though quite good. Now to the Rogan Josh , a meal fit for a King ! The meat was generous and tender, the sauce unctuous & with just the right amount of bite , polished that off in the one sitting.Perfect balance of spices & seasonings. The breads we chose were also excellent , the Garlic Naan especially !The serve sizes were generous , enough for us to eke out 2 meals , and the prices for the quality of the food , the passion that was plain in the flavours presented , were very good value. We hope they continue, prosper and keep the passion , so we can continue to eat excellent Indian here in rural Gympie !Keep it up guys !
