Bon - Hachinohe

I wish this izakaya existed when I lived in misawa years ago. but now, when he comes from tokio to the north, this place will be one of my must-do places to eat, drink and relax. this Japanese cook/owner has the place for over 20 years, learned English at the backpack of the world, and fell in love with cooking in general and Thai life in particular. his khao mann gai is absolutely to die. his recommended gyoza is close to the tip on my list. he loves to be kreatiw and has some of his own court influences through his travel. who lives in or near hachinohe must really look at this place. I can't wait to return and try the rest of his menu.

Great food. Great atmosphere. The bar owner speaks really good English and is very courteous. Favorite bar in the Hachinohe hands down.

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful! Really hip and cozy atmosphere. The cook speaks very fluent English. Since the menu was not in English, he asked if he could cook me and my husband's dishes he would like to try. Man, we were not disappointed. Each dish was cooked to perfection and a leak for the taste buds. Very unique culinary experience and cannot wait to go back soon!

The mood and rustic decor were cool with great classic rock playing. The staff were friendly and the chef/owner chatted to us over the counter in decent English while cooking excellent food. This place has the izakaya experience you are hoping for.

Kappa is the man and kakuni is the most delicious food in Japan. 10 stars wouldn't be enough.
