I booked the restaurant for a private dining event for a special birthday. From the first email to contact them to the last goodbye on the night Shell, Lawrence and their team were friendly, courteous and efficient. In the run up to the night they made the arrangements easy and accessible, were happy to discuss food preferences if needed and made it easy to organise a big group. On the night we were met with the same level of service, with a smile, and the team that night went the extra mile to make our event happily and well. Delicious food, excellent service, kindness and extra-care with my guests on the night made it a successful and happy private dining event. We are all delighted with the venue, on the Regent's canal, and recommend Waterhouse highly. Great venue, good location. The whole placed glowed with the evening light and the excellence of your hospitality. Warm thanks.
Thank you Waterhouse for an exceptional lunchtime experience. Warm welcome, clean tables and immaculately turned out staff at the front of house and in the kitchen. I wanted to support a community beneficial and independent establishment so that’s two boxes ticked! I wasn’t expecting it to be much more than a canteen with clean but chaotic service. How wrong I was! Professional and excellent service from the moment we walked in, delicious lemonade flavoured drinks with organic and additive free ingredients, best coffee I’ve tasted in a long time, nicely presented and well cooked curry (could have been a bit spicier for my taste but I appreciate it needs to suit all tastes not just mine! with rice and a homemade nan, sticky warm chocolate brownie with ice cream and change from £25 for two of us having lunch. You’d pay more than that for Starbucks lunch for two and none of the profit benefits the community! Anyway thank you Waterhouse Restaurant. Spectacular location, lovely staff and clean wholesome surroundings.
I really like the idea of this restaurant supporting the Shoreditch Trust. It has an impressive canal side location and the first visit was very pleasant. Food was nice, service was friendly. Second visit wasn’t quite up to scratch; as expected the restaurant gets really busy over lunchtimes and service struggles to cope. However, on this visit we ordered the daily special of Jerk Chicken. What was served was not jerk chicken, it was breaded fragrantly spiced chicken. Disappointment from expectation followed, and disappointment is what ruins a dining experience. All in all though, a hidden gem if you happen to work in the vicinity.
This was an event which need to know any dietary requirements before hand for their buffet style spread. The staff were excellent and very attentive to needs, cleanliness and service. I requested vegan food, as I am vegan, which there were two items on offer, a polenta cake style option and lots of vegetable pakoras. These were both very tasty and obviously cook to perfection. The non-vegans had a wider range of items which is normally the case. However none of the dips were vegan, of which there were 4, which once again means lack of participation in the enjoyment of eating arena. Considering the multitude of food which can be created with out animal products it is a shame there was not one on offer. But hey ho we are the orphans of the food table. Apart from that everything was excellent and the space was brilliant. So thanks for the efforts.
