Legitimately the best food we had in Maui (Lahaina, Kihei, etc). Saw the smoke bellowing as we drove by. Combo plate of some of the best BBQ I've ever had, along with excellently cooked rice and great hot sauce. These kinds of places are why I travel. Totally unique experience.
I gave 4 stars because my visit didn’t live up to the experience that others had. It appears a new owner has taken over. The setup didn’t have seating or drinks. The ribs were epic, very very good. The kids loved them and would have eaten a lot more. We were not able to get chicken because we had some so early. The sides were some canned corn heated, and over cooked white rice. With time and practice I believe this will be an exceptional stop, as it is it’s worth a stop for lunch.
Do not miss out on this place if you go on road to Hana! This is the best food you can get in the entirety of Maui imo. The chicken is super tender, super juicy, with crispy skin. The flavor is just fantastic. The same goes for the ribs: crispy on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside. The rice and corn go well with the meat as well. If you ask me, $20 is a steal for a plate like this. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS PLACE.
Outrageously delicious BBQ. This place is not just a food stand. The owners are very friendly and take pride in their food. The Hawaiian BBQ platter, which feeds 2 people, consists of BBQ'd pork belly and chicken on a bed of rice, with a cucumber/tomato salad and grilled cinnamon bananas with whipped cream $20). Coconuts are a very reasonable $8.
