Osone Izakaya - Hakone

Wonderful authentic restaurant run by a lovely couple who I believe would be well in their eighties. Food was delicious. A great experience overall.

Very friendly and welcoming owner. We had a great meal here, food is good and prices very reasonable.

Good food however, be mindful that they may overcharge you for the amount which you've ordered (as we were foreigners) the uncle asked for our nationality. we calculated our entire meal to be 3000+ yen with tax, but yet he charged us 4800 yen. Also super fishy that he didnt allow us to have a good look at the bill before we payed (he gave us a brief look of the receipt) and told us it was 4800. A word of advice, look at the bill carefully. As the bill was handwritten in japanese and it was a family owned restaurant, he could have easily written extra items to overcharge us.

A must in Hakone! Delicious food (I recommend liver special plate) and lovely service. We simply loved it.

Really nice and authentic food ran by an elderly couple. English menu is available and price is affordable. Highly recommended!
