Rudy Olive's Fish And Chips

Very busy, and the space is way too small. Eat in is an option but it was utterly chaotic and the entire time we waited in line not a single person sitting had any food on their tables (we waited at least 25 min). One of the staff members was moving about behind the counter and handling food while open mouth coughing the entire time we were there. We finally got the opportunity to order and then waited another 20 min in the car for staff to bring out our food. Waiting isn’t the issue, they were busy and we understand that, but they did not have the staff or the capacity to handle the volume creating a very stressful experience. They should be take out only if that’s a regular occurrence. Yes, the fish was good, it’s the only reason I have given them two stars. But it’s not enough to go through that again. Let me just preface that it's understandable that a business gets busy. But, to tell someone that a pickup order is a 10-15 minute wait but in reality its a 45 minute wait... it's just poor service. I've eaten here a few times and this a normal occurrence. Ruby Olive has also done away with Styrofoam boxes and instead they just use the paper bag and a paper plate. This a more green friendly approach and it's perfectly okay! However, they tend to provide the bag of food upside down when handing it over to you, leading to your food to be all over the bag. Finally, when it comes to the fries... They're rather bland and require your own touch to make them have a bit a flavor. Overall, Ruby Olive is okay, but their service is very subpar. Ok, finally got to try this place. I'd give the fish and chips a solid 8.5/10. The fish is great as well as the batter, nice an crisp and the fish is fresh and flakey. The fries were pretty good but the portion I felt was on the light side. My only real gripe was the coleslaw. The coleslaw is everything to me when I get fish and chips and all I can say is its just average slaw and a tiny portion. Like enough to fill a shot glass. Quite underwhelming. Now this is being really picky but a couple other places in town do it a bit better so I have to be honest. Overall, definitely way above average. Great job Rudy and Olives.
