On my days off I literally plan this in to them, that is how much I like them. The people in the truck are amazing! They are friendly, they chat with you, they remember you and they serve a mean cheese. You need to eat here, granted it's a summer thing, hit up their face book page and see where they are at. It's worth it.
I cannot say, as Tripadvisor requested, that this is one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant. However, that is because it was not in a restaurant! First, I must mention that our hostess was amazing. I had a spicy cheese sandwich with an incredible combination of flavors. If I lived in Halifax, I would probably eat there multiple times a week. I never anticipated such delicious food from such a humble location. It was truly a memorable experience!
Everything served from this gourmet food truck is fresh and local. These cooks know how to make a delicious grilled cheese sandwich with all kinds of different twists. The workers are very friendly as well.
Grilled cheese is one of my favorite comfort foods and having tasted so many throughout my travels, I consider myself a little bit of a aficionado. The Halifax Press ranks in my top 5 of all time. I ordered the Smoke on the Harbour and also tried the Little Italy. Nicely grilled, perfect amount of cheese (no big blobs or half-melted cheese) and quality sourdough bread. The cone shaped wrapper with the separate little pocket for the pickle to keep the juices away from the bread is also a nice touch. If I lived in Halifax, i would definitely be a regular customer.Bonus: Get the peanut butter sparkle cookies if they have them. I guarantee that it will be the best classic peanut butter cookie that you will ever have.
I stumbled upon this food truck while wandering around downtown Halifax. The menu caught my interest so I decided to grab my lunch from here. A variety of sandwiches are offered ranging from $5-10.I decided to get the "Classic Press - three Nova Scotia cheeses on Julien's sourdough bread, grilled in garlic butter under a cast iron press". It was delicious!!! They also take cash, credit or debit which is a bonus! I saw many office workers popping out to grab their lunch from this truck as well as a culinary tour. I highly recommend! The day that I visited the truck was located on Argyle St by the park and City Hall.
