Jack Astor's is a fine establishment, the food is decent and the staff are friendly. However I do feel that the prices have gone up a little too much. The quality of food did not go up, the atmosphere didn't increase and neither did the service. But the prices have been steadily going up. I feel like you're better off going to other establishments such as Moxie's for the same price and a much classier and cleaner feeling atmosphere.
I visited the restaurant for my birthday dinner last night with a few friends. The food was absolutely perfect, as it always is. I can't remember the name of the lovely server, but she had an amazing smile and a warm personality. The customer service was excellent, and she even inquired if we were affected by the fires and if we were doing okay. It was so thoughtful of her to genuinely care about her customers.
The only downside was the volume of the music. Alex explained that it was a Friday night, and we were seated on the bar side of the restaurant. It seems they aim to create a lively atmosphere for the younger crowd on weekend evenings. As seniors, we enjoyed the lively rhythm, but we also wanted to engage in conversation. I've learned that Friday and Saturday nights may not be the best time for those seeking a quieter dining experience, unless you don't mind tapping your toes to the music—seniors can enjoy that too! Alternatively, you can request seating on the quieter family side. Overall, it was a lovely evening out with great food enjoyed to a vibrant beat.
Wow! This place gets incredibly busy on weekends. I visited for the first time last Saturday, and it was packed! It's a nice family-friendly restaurant with a variety of interesting options. I didn’t think the food was exceptional, but it was decent. We ordered the new wonton nachos twice because we enjoyed them the most, but the second serving wasn’t as tasty as the first. We also tried the shrimp pad Thai, which was alright, but it didn’t have an authentic flavor. Perhaps this place is better known for other dishes, so it’s worth a visit to try it out at least once.
